SHAPING CLAY OR OTHER CERAMIC COMPOSITIONS; SHAPING SLAG; SHAPING MIXTURES CONTAINING CEMENTITIOUS MATERIAL, e.g. PLASTER (foundry moulding B22C; working stone or stone-like material B28D; shaping of substances in a plastic state, in general B29C; making layered products not composed wholly of these substances B32B)

Description

B28B covers machinery and processes for forming clay, ceramic compositions, slag, and cementitious mixtures (such as plaster, concrete, and cement) into finished shapes. This subclass encompasses extrusion, pressing, casting, molding, and other shaping techniques applied to these materials before they are fired, set, or hardened. Typical applications include brick and tile manufacturing, pottery production, precast concrete elements, and plaster products. The classification specifically addresses the mechanical shaping stage and does not extend to firing processes, which are classified elsewhere in the ceramic and cement technology sections.
