C09B

ORGANIC DYES OR CLOSELY-RELATED COMPOUNDS FOR PRODUCING DYES ; MORDANTS; LAKES (fermentation or enzyme using processes to synthesise a desired chemical compound C12P)

Description

C09B encompasses organic dyes and their precursor compounds, along with mordants and lake pigments used in coloring applications. This subclass covers azo dyes, anthraquinone dyes, triphenylmethane dyes, indigo and indigoid dyes, and other synthetic organic colorants derived through chemical synthesis. Mordants (chemical fixatives that enhance dye-fiber adhesion) and lakes (insoluble pigments formed by precipitating organic dyes with inorganic substrates) are included within this classification scope. C09B excludes natural dyes and their direct extraction (covered in C09C) and focuses on chemically synthesized or chemically modified colorant systems for textiles, printing, plastics, and other industrial applications.
