SUPPLYING COMBUSTION ENGINES IN GENERAL WITH COMBUSTIBLE MIXTURES OR CONSTITUENTS THEREOF

Description

F02M covers systems and methods for supplying fuel, air, and combustible mixtures to internal combustion engines, encompassing fuel injection, carburetion, intake manifold design, and mixture preparation technologies. This subclass includes fuel delivery mechanisms, atomization devices, mixing chambers, and control systems that regulate the composition and flow of combustible charges to engine cylinders across gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel applications. It addresses both conventional carburetors and modern direct injection systems, as well as air intake regulation and emission control devices that affect mixture composition. F02M excludes fuel storage and transport systems (covered in F02M's parent F02), as well as ignition systems and the actual combustion process within cylinders.
