Description

B27C encompasses machine tools designed for primary shaping operations on wood and wood-like materials through material removal processes such as planing, drilling, milling, and turning. This subclass includes both single-purpose machines dedicated to one operation and universal machines capable of performing multiple operations. The classification covers the mechanical design, structural elements, and control features of these machines, as well as specialized tooling and work-holding apparatus unique to wood machining, while excluding machines for sawing (covered under B27D) and finishing or surface treatment operations.
