C06F MATCHES; MANUFACTURE OF MATCHES
Introduced: September 1968
Description
C06F covers the manufacture and composition of matches, including friction matches, safety matches, and related ignition devices designed for manual ignition of combustible materials. This classification includes match head formulations (chemical compositions for ignition), match stick materials, manufacturing processes, and associated equipment used in match production. It encompasses both the chemical aspects of match head mixtures and the mechanical aspects of assembly and quality control, but excludes general explosive compositions covered by C06B or lighters and igniters with different operating mechanisms.
