Description

D07B covers the general design, manufacture, and structure of ropes and cables excluding electrical cables. This subclass encompasses twisted, braided, or laid rope constructions; materials used in rope production (natural fibers, synthetic fibers, wire); and mechanical properties relevant to rope performance. It includes inventions related to rope-making processes, splice techniques, and general cable configurations used in maritime, industrial, and general utility applications. Electrical cables and their specialized constructions are excluded and classified separately under D07C.
