G07C

TIME OR ATTENDANCE REGISTERS; REGISTERING OR INDICATING THE WORKING OF MACHINES; GENERATING RANDOM NUMBERS; VOTING OR LOTTERY APPARATUS; ARRANGEMENTS, SYSTEMS OR APPARATUS FOR CHECKING NOT PROVIDED FOR ELSEWHERE

Introduced: September 1968

Description

G07C covers diverse checking and registration systems not classified elsewhere, including time and attendance recording devices (clocks, badge readers, biometric systems), machine operation monitors and counters, random number generators for technical applications, and voting or lottery apparatus. The class encompasses both mechanical and electronic implementations of these checking technologies, from industrial machine monitoring to personnel management systems. This subclass serves as a residual category for specialized checking apparatus that do not fit into other G07 divisions (such as G07B for postal or fare-collection devices, or G07F for coin or banknote-operated mechanisms).

Of 10 combined children, 8 exist in both systems.

2 codes are CPC-only extensions.

Note: 2 CPC extensions are marked as secondary classification only.

2 shared codes have differing titles between IPC and CPC.
