H02G

INSTALLATION OF ELECTRIC CABLES OR LINES, OR OF COMBINED OPTICAL AND ELECTRIC CABLES OR LINES

Introduced: September 1968

Description

H02G covers the physical installation, routing, and mounting of electrical cables and lines in various environments and applications. This includes cable laying methods, protective conduits, cable supports, fastening systems, and installation tools or techniques for both single and combined optical-electric cables. The class encompasses underground, overhead, and in-building cable installations, as well as specialized systems for harsh environments or high-voltage applications. Adjacent classes such as H01B (cable materials and construction) and H02C (circuit protection) address cable composition and electrical protection respectively, whereas H02G focuses specifically on the mechanical installation and structural aspects of cable deployment.

Of 9 combined children, 8 exist in both systems.

1 codes are CPC-only extensions.

Note: 1 CPC extensions are marked as secondary classification only.

3 shared codes have differing titles between IPC and CPC.
