H03F

AMPLIFIERS

Introduced: September 1968

Description

H03F covers electronic amplification devices and circuits that increase the amplitude, power, or intensity of electrical signals. This subclass encompasses various amplifier types including voltage amplifiers, power amplifiers, radiofrequency amplifiers, and integrated amplifier circuits, along with their operational principles (such as Class A, B, AB, and C operation). The classification includes amplifier design elements, feedback mechanisms, biasing techniques, and impedance matching arrangements. Related signal processing functions like modulation and demodulation that are integral to amplifier operation may be included, though standalone communication system implementations are typically classified elsewhere.

Of 14 combined children, 11 exist in both systems.

3 codes are CPC-only extensions.

Note: 3 CPC extensions are marked as secondary classification only.
