Description

C10L covers fuels not classified in other C10 subclasses, including natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and synthetic natural gas produced by processes outside the scope of dedicated subclasses. This subclass also encompasses fuel additives and their applications to improve combustion properties, performance, or safety characteristics in fuels and fires. Fire-lighter compositions and devices designed to initiate ignition are included within this classification. Adjacent subclasses C10B through C10K address specific fuel production processes (e.g., coal carbonization, oil refining, gasification), whereas C10L captures residual fuel types and supplementary technologies that enhance fuel functionality.

Scope Notes

Glossary: fire-lighter fire-lighters easily-combustible composition or shaped product which is designed to initiate the combustion of a larger body of fuel, e.g. briquettes mainly consisting of charcoal
