Description
E05C17/02 covers mechanical devices for holding door or window wings open or for limiting their opening, using a movable member that extends between the frame and the wing. Typical constructions include friction stays, pivoted arms, sliding rods in guide tracks, hooks and casement stays used on windows, doors and hatches. Combined braking devices, stops and buffers of this kind are also included. Non-mechanical hold-open devices, e.g. magnetic or fluidic ones, are classified elsewhere in E05C17/00, and E05C17/60 takes precedence for members moved into holding position by the wing movement.
