This subclass covers injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, and other primary shaping techniques applied to thermoplastics, thermosets, and elastomers. It also includes post-molding operations such as trimming, annealing, welding, and repair of plastic products, as well as shaping of materials in a plastic or semi-solid state not classified elsewhere in Section B29. The subclass excludes processes specific to natural rubber or leather working (B29D) and upstream polymer synthesis or material preparation.
