This includes formulated oils, greases, and other lubricant products, as well as specific chemical compounds (such as base oils, viscosity modifiers, anti-wear agents, detergents, and corrosion inhibitors) employed in lubricating applications. The subclass addresses both the composition of finished lubricating products and the functional role of chemical ingredients within those compositions.
