B24C ABRASIVE OR RELATED BLASTING WITH PARTICULATE MATERIAL
Introduced: September 1968
Description
B24C covers abrasive blasting processes and equipment using particulate materials to clean, finish, or modify surfaces. This includes sandblasting, shot blasting, grit blasting, and similar techniques where compressed air or mechanical force propels abrasive particles (sand, steel shot, ceramic beads, etc.) against workpieces. The classification encompasses apparatus for directing and controlling the blast stream, containment systems, and related auxiliary equipment, but excludes grinding and polishing operations classified under B24B.
IPC and CPC are identically structured here. All 6 subcodes exist in both systems.
1 shared codes have differing titles between IPC and CPC.
