E02C SHIP-LIFTING DEVICES OR MECHANISMS
Introduced: September 1968
Description
E02C covers mechanical and hydraulic systems designed to lift, raise, or vertically transport ships and vessels. This includes ship lifts, drydocks, floating docks, and related infrastructure mechanisms that enable vessels to be removed from water for maintenance, repair, or transfer between water levels. The classification encompasses the structural design, operational mechanisms, and control systems of such devices, whether powered by hydraulics, electricity, or other means. Adjacent classes address general hydraulic engineering (E02D), foundation work (E02B), and specific water transport infrastructure.
IPC and CPC are identically structured here. All 3 subcodes exist in both systems.
2 shared codes have differing titles between IPC and CPC.
