Description

G02B9/02 covers optical objectives that consist of a single positive (converging) component, characterised both by the number of components and by their sign. Typical subject matter includes landscape and meniscus lenses for simple photographic cameras, viewfinders and low-cost imaging modules, where a single component, possibly a cemented doublet acting as one component, forms the image. Simple lenses as optical elements per se are classified in G02B3/00, and objectives with variable magnification take precedence in G02B15/00.
