Semantics The definition of the meaning of the syntax and of the process flow for decoding the syntax elements to produce the digital video output. Profile / Level Operational level of a standard compliant decoder, which uses a predefined subset of the features defining the complete decoder according to the standard. The definition of the predefined subset falls also within the prescriptions of the standard.
