Diabolo Diabolos a type of spinning toy characterised by a two-headed top to which rapid rotation is imparted by a string suspended between two hand-held sticks/batons. In use, a diabolo is placed in balance on the string and is made to spin by rapid movement of the string. With high rotational speed, the diabolo attains gyroscopic stability. It may be tossed into the air and, still spinning, caught again on the string.
