Description
F41C encompasses the design, construction, and accessories of small arms including pistols, rifles, carbines, and similar portable firearms operated by individual users. This subclass covers mechanical components such as barrels, actions, firing mechanisms, stocks, sights, and ammunition feeding systems, as well as functional improvements to weapon performance and safety features. Excluded are military large-caliber weapons, explosives, and blasting devices, which fall under other F41 subclasses; pyrotechnic ammunition is covered separately in F42B. Related technologies in F41D address specific firing mechanisms and hammer systems used in small arms.
