Description

Apparatus designed to operate or dispense goods/services only upon receipt of payment in the form of coins, tokens, or equivalent monetary instruments. Covers coin-operated machines including vending machines, turnstiles, parking meters, laundry equipment, and similar devices that validate and accept payment before enabling function. Encompasses the mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic mechanisms for coin detection, validation, storage, and actuation of dispensing or access control systems. Related currency-handling systems using banknotes or electronic payment methods are classified separately in adjacent categories.
