B62L BRAKES SPECIALLY ADAPTED FOR CYCLES
Introduced: September 1968
Description
Braking systems and brake components designed specifically for bicycles and similar pedal-driven cycles. This subclass encompasses mechanical brake mechanisms such as rim brakes, disc brakes, drum brakes, and coaster brakes, as well as associated control elements like brake levers and cable systems. It covers both the structural design of brake assemblies and their integration with cycle frames and wheels, excluding general brake principles covered in B62M (motorized cycles) or broader vehicular brake technologies in B60T.
IPC and CPC are identically structured here. All 3 subcodes exist in both systems.
3 shared codes have differing titles between IPC and CPC.
