H05G X-RAY TECHNIQUE (investigating or analysing materials by the use of X-rays G01N23/00; apparatus for X-ray photography G03B42/02; X-ray tubes H01J35/00; TV systems having X-ray input H04N5/321)
Introduced: September 1968
Description
H05G covers X-ray generation, production, and technical applications excluding medical diagnostic imaging and therapeutic irradiation devices. This subclass encompasses X-ray tubes, high-voltage equipment for X-ray production, X-ray diffraction and crystallography apparatus, and industrial X-ray inspection systems. It includes the design of X-ray sources, cooling systems, target materials, and associated electrical circuits necessary for X-ray generation and control. Medical X-ray equipment and therapeutic applications are classified separately in other IPC sections.
